Madam President’s career spans decades in government serving various positions, including local chief executive of Sampaloc, Quezon following the EDSA (People Power) Revolution. Known as a trailblazer for women, she was the first female Mayor of Sampaloc, first female president of the Quezon Mayor’s League, the first female National President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, the first female lawyer from Quezon Province to be admitted to the New York Bar, the first female Government Corporate Council, the first female Solicitor General and the first female to be a full-pledged Secretary of Justice.

An advocate for the continuous training and development of employees, she most recently served as Chairperson and CEO of the Energy Regulatory Commission before her appointment last year as the first female President and CEO of the Clark Development Corporation.
