On May 23, 2023, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. appointed Sec. Katrina Ponce Enrile as the CEO of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), making her the first woman to head CEZA. With prior involvement as a distinguished CEZA Board member and Vice Chairman, she brings extensive experience dating back to 1999 introducing new business and development opportunities to the organization Regarded as a successful business figure, she guided the JAKA Group since 1984, steering it through difficult challenges including the 2000 economic crisis that brought the company to great debt and, yet, she effectively managed to turn it around.. Today, JAKA operates in food manufacturing, safety match manufacturing, property development, information technology services, security services, and many more.

Her academic foundation in Political Science from the University of the Philippines and law studies at Ateneo College of Law complements her practical expertise. Her vision for CEZA involves revitalizing the gaming industry with contemporary infrastructure, clear policies, and secure environments. This appointment highlights her dedication to fostering growth, drawing from her extensive contributions to CEZA and her accomplished tenure at JAKA Group. Incorporating her rich background and successful endeavors, Sec. Katrina Ponce Enrile, the first woman to lead CEZA, is primed to steer its expansion, making it a globally preferred gaming hub.
